Porto to Viana do Castelo, Barcelos and Braga as a daytrip?

We only have two days in Porto and I would really like to see the market in Barcelos as well as Viana do Castelo and Braga. Can we go for a daytrip and see all of these towns or will we be just driving and rushing around all day? Maybe stick to just the Barcelos market in the morning? Or should we try to take a day from our two days in the Duoro Valley and add it to Porto and daytrips from there?

I would stay in Viana do Castello at the Pousada and day trip from there--we love that area. The Barcelos market is a cultural icon not to miss.

Yes, but I must admit we have not done Porto well--it was in heavy rain. I just like the area further north and that Pousada is special.

We only spent one full day in Porto, we took the train in from Braga...in the pouring rain. Hope you have better luck.

We had rain in the north of Portugal and in nearby Galicia, Spain..but not in Porto or on the River Duoro cruise. Porto is a nice small city with lots of history and a beautiful riverfront promenade.
