hello - heading to Sorrento next month and a group of 9 adults are interested in touring Pompeii. Ideally looking for transportation to and from Sorrento with a private tour guide. Any recos? I looked on Viator and found a few tour guides but transportation and tickets were not included. Not a problem to book the transportation separately and secure the tickets online but thought I'd check here if there are any well regarded guides. Thanks!

Pompeii is an easy train ride on the Circumvesuviana train, about 40 minures, see this link:

If memory serves, we bought our train tickets that day at the station. You might want to check before. Others can confirm or clarify.

As for guides, check with your hotel, or go with the well-known companies. DH and I went on our own and a workman took us to the house on which he was working!
