Polish International Train Tickets
I am taking the night train from Krakow to Budapest. Buying in advance the fare is offered at quite a reduction (E96>Euro49).
These tickets have to be bought at least 60 days in advance. They cannot be ordered on the internet. I am arriving directly from the US to Krakow and am only staying in Krakow three days.
Has anyone ordered these kinds of tickets in advance from an agency? I am trying to find agencies in the US that may offer them for sale. The only one I have been able to find is Rail Europe and at their prices I might as well buy them in Krakow when I arrive.
I have found one agency in Poland that sells them for a small commission which I am more than willing to pay. But before I do this I would like to find an agency in the US if possible.
Thanks.

Agency in US will be charging you a nice commission ... here is 1 in USA which btw is Polish and have good prices for air and others - but check out trains ... -> http://www.amta.com/Web/Pages/RailTickets.aspx
You did not mention your dates of travel - where those 3 days maybe just fine to get tickets ... Suggestion with hotel is good - also maybe good to just contact Polish Train Service directly ... they have email
http://www.intercity.pkp.pl/?page=contact
e-mail: [email protected] (international railway service)
Ask for prices, promotions as well as how to get their tickets (maybe they can recommend good agency with low commission) ...
Looks like you be taking "Chopin" from Katowice to Budapest
http://www.intercity.pkp.pl/?page=ti...ow&tsr_id=1273
which has 3 out of 11 cars for Budapest - 1 seating 1 semi sleeper and 1 sleeper ...

If you check out US agencies like Raileurope, the price will be much more higher (but why? anyone can tell?>
Why - because REurope is a profit-making entity and Polish Railways are not - what the traffic will bear.
