plugging in a battery charger for my digital camera?
Good evening Fodorites,

Once again I need your assistance. I am planning on taking a digital camera on my trip to Ireland and France. My camera and my card reader both take rechargable batteries. What do I need in order to plug in my charger? I have a samsonite converter/adapter that I purchased for a trip to Italy a few years ago. It is the one marked "appropriate for small appliances". Will this work or will I fry my charger? Do I need a different adapter for Ireland than I would use in France?

Many small chargers & portables nowadays are rated for "110-240 volts". This should be stamped on the charger if it applies to your charger.

If your charger is already rated "110-240 volt" then you do NOT need a "converter", you only need "plug adapters" to match the american-style flat blade male plug to the european round hole female receptacle.

Lisa

I asked the same question of a company that handles travel supplies. www.travelsupplies.com. Their web page did not have the exact answer I needed. They replied to me via e-mail and gave me the exact informtion I needed. If you would like a copy of their response, please e-mail me I will forward you a copy. I believe it might be the exact information you are looking for.
