I brought the Fiammora reference over from the restaurant list I've been compiling. But now I can't find anything about it on Fodors...or even Google for that matter! I must've misspelled it. #-o I'm guessing I read something on ChowHound---will see what I can find. In the meantime, certainly don't use MY rec's!

Very helpful post. I'll certainly copy it into my notes. Which would you recommend for our first night? We will be worn out and probably won't even get to the hotel until well after dark. A little strolling around, a simple dinner (no hard choices!), and then to bed!

I actually had Rick Steves' night walk in my notes, but I didn't know where to find it. Thanks.

We do a night walking tour with a guide every time we go to Rome. For us, it's a must. It's always one of the highlights of our trip. Not sure if the usual tour groups conduct that tour in the winter, though. They usually meet around 6:30 p.m. in front of the Emmanuele memorial. They're the same groups that you can join outside the Colossuem for a Colossuem/Palatine Hill tour.
People usually rave about Borghese, but I didn't find it all that fascinating. This is only my humble opinion, but to make room for other things, I would skip Borghese.
Don't forget the Trevi Fountain!

We have the night monuments tour on our list. Would like to do it on Friday, but we will have just arrive Thurs night. We're also doing our Vatican tour on Friday. I'm concerned about being too tired/jet lagged by nightfall to enjoy the tour. Any thoughts on this?
Also, keep in mind: this is January.
