I achieved nirvana in the gorges of Kakuetta, but they have been closed for about the last 5 years after a rock fell on a woman and killed her. One of these days they will reopen with a lot more protective roofs and such. All because just about everybody ignored the big rows of protective helmets tthat you could get as you began the visit. Yes, I ignored the helmets, too.

This is just lovely, zebec. The landscape, the markets, the people, the imagery.

I like taking the bus, too. Trains are great for efficiency from A to B, but a bus ambling from village to village, picking up kids and the elderly, is usually so interesting.

The picture of the waters with legend “never ceases to please.” is my favorite.

Enjoying reading your TR. Great imagery, beautiful nature, villages, mountains. Thanks for sharing. It is an inspiration.

Ah oui, I am just now resurfacing with this TR. All the French folks to whom we had kept the promise of a shout-out above, have been notified. Our Luz landlord Patrice has another Paris Art Show just now, featuring his stylized B&W close-up textured photography.
Much gratitude to all who viewed Plentitude.

Rhon, I remember your old Luz TR. When we arrived in town, I told Mrs Z how you two had actually preferred the smaller 'Montagne' Carrefour to the larger one next to our rental. We soon agreed.
Mel, you asked about the length of the Cirque de Gavarnie hike. It was about 3 hours one way, taking time for photos. There are alternate trails off to each side, which seem to be roughly the same time frame. I had severe and unprecedented leg cramps upon returning back to our rental that night. We old.

ANUJ, I remember how in your Highland TR, there was a post from our Gardyloo featuring a foto of the exact same house in Sutherland. We are about to do the same in our upcoming Sta Barbara TR with a shot recently taken by our Magsrose. *We are also re-reading your le Marche TR with a mind towards a potential trip in the fall.
Shelemm, your phrase from your Greece, Bulgaria, and Romania TR: 'We just returned and boy are we ever tired!" rings true for us too now.
Kerouac, bonne chance in Madagascar! Looking forward to seeing your reportage. Et merci beaucoup pour les Gorges de Kakuetta. C'est tres especiale et tous magnifique!
YankeeGal---where to next? Have you committed to a trip? Please tell us where.
Leifields, thank you for viewing this TR. Folks, do check out Leifields' Dolomites TR. Ottimo.

Poster 'Landes' over on the Lonely Planet 'Thorn Tree' forum has corrected one of my label titles above. Living not far off from and having experience in the Pyrenees, she pointed out that the mural-poster of that chamois creature is in fact an 'isard', pronounced by some as EEzard. Further research tells us that the names are somewhat interchangeable but that the Alps version of that animal is larger of the two.

I shant address either Ade nor KW here. And the rumour that I am jealous of them both for their recent trips to New Zealand despite advancing years IS SIMPLY NOT TRUE! DO YOU HEAR ME? NOT TRUE! DEMONSTRABLY NOT TRUE!!!!!
I am done. The end.

Peace always
