Have you considered an apartment? We prefer apartments and have also gone with our adult children. We have rented from different agencies and private party. Our last rental was with vacationinparis.com. We were very pleased with the apartment and the service. You can rent by the day with them. We always stay in the Marais. I would definitely recommend that arrondisement.

I am at a loss....I sent in the form to get rooms at the Brighton in Paris, got a reply back that they got the form and stated they would send confirmation in 24 hours, nothing and it has been well over 24. I cannot find a telephone number for them only fax number on reply, does anyone have the telephone number. Thanks

Thanks everyone, we have our room at the Brighton, we have the train tickets, now I have to start digging into tickets for events. Is there a site that allows you to get tickets for events so that you do not have to stand in line so long, it seems I remember something to that effect. Also will start looking into restaurants, or perhaps play most of that by ear. Thanks again

Wow, Jelane. You've made great progress!
Regarding standing in line, are you thinking of the museum pass which lets you "jump" the line? Or do you mean events like concerts?
There are lots of Fodors threads on "museum pass" that will help you determine the best options for your family.

I had heard that for the Eiffel Tower, Louve and tourist places that you could purchase your ticket in advance online, this may not be the case but I need to check it out today and I also need to get some reservations for a restaurant especially for Christmas Eve....

I don't know of any Eiffel Tower ticket that lets you jump line. It's on a first come basis, I believe.
As for the Louvre and museums, you don't need to purchase in advance (except maybe the Orangerie). All you need to decide is whether you want a museum pass. It depends on how many you want to visit. When we were there in Sept we only had time for the Louvre and Orsay. We entered the underground Louvre from the Palais Royale metro stop. Went to the Tabac in the right corner as you enter the underground, bought Louvre tickets and went right in. He also sold us our Orsay tickets for the next day and we were able to pass the line and enter through the "group tours" door.
We did find time to also see the Cluny Museum. Loved it. The tapestries are lovely and the entire setting is quite charming.
PS: There have been several recent threads on Christmas restaurants. Search for "Christmas and Paris and restaurants" and I think you'll find plenty of suggestions. Good luck!
