Please help with itinerary! Maribel?
I am planning a trip to Spain in September with my boyfriend and another couple. We love nightlife and want to be in the best possible cities, on the best nights. So far our plan is to fly into Madrid on a Friday and stay through Sunday. On Monday, we plan to drive to Toldeo for a day trip and then drive 4 hours to Granada and spend the night there. On Tuesday, go to the Alhambra and then... here's what I can't figure out. Should we drive to Costa Del Sol and stay for 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and then to Seville for 2 days (Friday and Saturday) OR do we go to Seville first and then to Costa Del Sol for the weekend? We want to be where the nightlife is the liveliest in September. Please help! Thanks so much!

It seems to me you have a choice of two different types of nightlife: "Resort" nightlife - probably a bit more hip with people from all over [Costa del Sol] or "more local" nightlife - mainly locals and in keeping with the culture of Spain [Sevilla or Granada]. Both types will give you all you can handle and go from about midnight to dawn. It all depends on what you are looking for.
Incidentally, should you decide to not go to the Costa del Sol, I'd do Madrid, Toledo by day trip, Train to Sevilla [AVE], and then when ready to head to Granada, rent a car at the Sevilla train station. Do not need [or want] a car in Madrid or Sevilla. In fact, you won't need it in Granada and that leg is also doable by train. Granada to Madrid by train is a bit tedious so it is nice to have a car for that leg since you will be going directly to the airport and will not have to go downtown.

I agree with the last posting - on the way from Granada to Madrid check out Iberia.com. We flew for $33/each one-way and only takes 1 hour. Check the website daily. One day I looked it was $178/each then next day $33. Give it a try. Don't recommend driving anywhere in Granada.
Have fun!
