Please help with Dubrovnik to Split Itinerary

Please let me know if you think this would even be possible. In the last week of Sept., my group of 38 has a full day to get from Dubrovnik to Split, with our own private coach.
Could we drive from Dubrovnik up the Peljesac Peninsula to Korcula, ferrying to and from Orebic, ferry from Trpanj to Ploce, and then travel on to Split? Can the ferries accomodate a full-size bus?
If this is possible, if we stopped in Korcula for approx 2 hours, and Brela for 1 hour, how many hours would you estimate this trip would take?
Thanks in advance fro all replies, Reid777

I did this a few years ago (in mid October).

However with the size of your vehicle and the number of passengers I really think you would be pushing it to do it all in one day.

I drove from Dubrovnik (leaving around 9am) to Orebic where I parked the car and took the ferry to Korcula (car ferry as a foot passenger) then took a taxi into Korcula town. I spent 2-3 hours there, which included lunch, before getting the foot ferry back to Orebic. (This foot ferry only seats about 12 people btw). I had to get this ferry to be able to reach Trpanji in time for the car ferry there.

I drove to Trpanj and despite getting there over an hour before the last ferry I was lucky to get a space on it. It seems that many locals are given priority in boarding; they were all waved on ahead of me and mine was the very last car put on. As it was I could barely squeeze out of it, cars and vans were packed so tight!

Arriving in Ploce, I headed north towards Spilt. By Makarska it was getting dark and it was totally dark by the time I got to Brela around 7pm. I stayed there overnight.

September is still what they call high season. Have you checked the ferry times to see if this is even possible? Frankly I think you'd be lucky to get such a big vehicle on the last ferry of the day.

I think you could do Korcula, but consider backtracking, and cutting Brela out. There really wasn't much to see there.

Otherwise omit Korcula completely - hopefully you will have already visited other walled towns (and one walled town is pretty much like another! Don't shoot me, but I found after Trogir, Kotor and Dubrovnik that Korcula wasn't especially exciting)- and stop at Ston and Mali Ston or a Peljesac vineyard, and then proceed up the coast road to Split, then you could stop at Brela or Makarska before you get to Split.

Hope this helps a bit.

Your answer helps quite a bit! Thanks for all the info on the ferries. As much as I would like my group to see Korcula, I don't think it's going to be possible, especially because of its size. I even checked on the ferry from Dubrovnik to Split, but it doesn't run on the day we need to travel. I researched Ston and Mali Ston and they look like a great stop. I also will check into wineries...I would think if we are going to visit one, we should probably give them advance notice. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks again, Reid777

I think julia_t has given you some great information.

LOL, I can't imagine a group of 38 seeing much of anything in a stop that's one hour long - the lines for the restrooms could take a good half of that! And by the time those who wondered off to find a different restroom return, you'll be behind schedule.... I hope I'm wrong!

Good luck!
