We are going to Paris in August and are thinking of staying on the Ile St Louis at either the Lutece or the des Deux Iles. Any thoughts? We would consider the Saint-Louis but have heard that they do not always honour reservations. What is the walking distance to the metro on this island and how about the noise factor?

Otherwise we are looking at staying in Marais at the Hotel du Vieux Marais. Any one have any info about this hotel? Or any tried and true options?

Pas de metro on the island - closest metro across the Seine a stone's throw from island - Pont Marie or Sully Morland on line 7. Cite and St-Michel-Notre-Dame not much farther for other lines.

I'll be it this time! If you repost with the names in the title you will probably get responses from someone who has stayed there. This is so vague many will not even bother to open it.

The M&eacute;tro is really only useful for traveling long distances. If you <u>want</u> to go far, figure out your routing from the Pont Marie stop and walk over there - or directly to Ch&acirc;telet, where 5 M&eacute;tro and 3 RER (train) lines converge. Your route finder is at
