A traditional bistro is a small restaurant that was traditionally a mom and pop with handwritten ormimeographed menus offering a limited selection of home-style dishes. Wine is available by carafe.
Brasserie is french for brewery most of these lively spots have an Alsation connection, so there's all that great white wine and beer and these places are brightly lit, and are open all day with late hours.
cafes offer coffee as well as drinks at the bar and very casual for simple meals and snacks.
