Kinderdijk, but depending on where you're staying, Zaanse Schans may be easier to reach. If you will be staying in Utrecht and if you're driving, (see your other thread) you can drive to Kinderdijk along the river Lek, and take in Schoonhoven as a stop on your way there. From Kinderdijk you could also do Dordrecht (oldest town in the province of Holland and fountainhead of Dutch Protestantism). A very scenic drive back could be along the peat rivers Alblas and Graafstroom, visiting the very small walled town of Nieuwpoort

you'll need to take a few ferries across the Lek for this, which is always fun. Also you could detour along the Linge, from Gorinchem to Leerdam and visit the glass factory there.
Gorinchem is another example of a traditional Dutch walled town. From Gorinchem you can take a ferry to Castle Loevestein. Interesting to teenagers too (more than Kinderdijk I think)

the drive along the Linge is very beautiful. Distances are so small, especially from Utrecht, that you could do all this easily in one day. In Kinderdijk itself there isn't much to see expect many windmills. You won't spend more than an hour there, I think.
