Great advice!! I will be cutting Interlaken out totally and possibly settling w/ Gamisch. Can anyone recommend a good hotel there and possible top sites to see/do?

Garmisch is beautiful. Smart move. We drove through Switzerland at night in early October and there was already snow on the ground as we got higher up. We're used to driving in bad conditions, but I was nervous anyway. Even the main roads have you climbing, twisting, and turning. Driving in the dark in bad conditions in a foreign country can is scary -- at least for me. Smart to skip it. Have a great time!
