Planing to make my winter holiday in Romania

On 22 December i will land in Bucharest and i will stay until 17/01 . I want some suggestion to go fill the Romanian style not the tourist experience
I will stay for 2-3 days in Bucharest but after.i will be free to explore the country . I see how in winter time is nice to go in mounting and Brasov. You have some suggestions because Romania is a big country and is short time to visit all in one trip ?
Thank you in advance for your time ...

I have not personally been to Romania so I cannot suggest much other than to get a good guidebook.

It would help those that have visited know your interests to guide you better. Also, how are you planning to travel? Car rental or public transport?

Lastly, I know of at least two recent Fodorites who have done a trip report on their travels to the county/region. I'd start with searching some trip reports. What comes to mind are:
Remarkable Romania! and

Trip Report: June 29 to July 20, 2024. 21 Nights in Greece, Bulgaria, and Romania

There might be others, so it would be worth doing a forum search.

Happy Planning!

I don’t know what Romania will be like in winter, but I can say that I thought it a delightful place to visit. I agree with Travel_Nerd that you would do well to consult some good guide books and thank her for suggesting that you might find value in my trip report.

For a first aproach, you may check the cities of Transsilvania:
Braspov, Sighisoara, Sibiu, Mediash, Cluj......
and the painted churches and monasteries and around Suceava.

Bucharest at Christmas is great. Best Christmas city lights in Europe.

Fantastic food in Romania with many good restaurants in Bucharest.

Major Attactions 1) Palace of Parliament , the second largest building globally.
2) Ceausescu Palace: the former home of the Romanian dictator. He and his family lived here from 1965 till 1989.
3) Bran Castle and the Carpathian Mountains. Beautiful scenery.
