Place to temporarily store bags in Venice?
We are arriving in Venice this Saturday at 9 am. We cannot check into our apartment until 4 pm. Can anyone think of a place where we can store our bags so we can tour around hassle free on Saturday? The apartment is in Santa Croce (Vaporetto stop: San Stae/Riva di Biasio)
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hi fogcity, two thoughts. Have you or can you talk to whomever you are renting the apartment from and ask if they have somewhere that they can hold your luggage until the apartment is avaialble.
Other thought is I am almost certain that you can store your luggage at the Venice (Santa Lucia) train station.
Sure hope you get something worked out. And maybe someone else here will have an idea. Have a beautiful visit in Venice.

Yes, Santa Lucia train station has a luggage room with attendants where you can leave luggage. I think I read somewhere (a guidebook maybe?) that some hotels may store your luggage for a small fee. Maybe find one near your apt and email or call them to see if they'd be willing?

fogcity,
Don't even think about it. Just take your bags to the Luggage checkin at the train station and be done with it.
In Venice, Number One Vaporetto leads to the train station, which is located at the Grand Entrance to the city. You'll enjoy taking the Number One back to get your bags that you've long forgotten about, having immersed yourself in the Venice Aquarium by then....
