Place to drop off car South of Siena, Italy

We will be staying in a farmhouse south of Siena, and then traveling to Rome for a couple of days before flying back to the US. Thinking that we would like to drop our rental car in Grosseto and then catch the train in to Rome - so we don't have to drive there and find the rental car place, etc. When I plug the address for the rental car place into MapQuest - it keeps sending me north of Siena - even though Grosseto is south! Does anyone know where the rental car drop off is in Grosseto and if it is anywhere near the train station? The address is Via Monterosa 15B, Tuscany. Company is Auto Europe. Or does anyone have a better idea of where we could drop our car en route to Rome? We don't want to have to backtrack back up to Siena, since we are about 45 minutes south of there. Thanks!!

Where exactly are you staying in Siena province (nearest village?) and what day of the week will you be dropping off the car?

Grosseto will probably be closest to you.

The company is not AutoEurope. Autoeurope is a broker like Expedia, Orbitz, etc. Your rental car will be from a company like Avis, Hertz, Europcar, etc. Figure which company you are getting your car from, go to their website and look at their location map. Grosseto is not that big so it couldn't be too far from the train station.

If you do a plain Google search for "Via Monterosa 15B Grosseto", then Google should pop up a map for you showing you that this is the location for Europcar in Grosseto. If you click on that map, and then use the Google "directions" feature, and ask for directions to Pari, Grosseto, you will be shown a route. It appears to be about a 45 minute drive.

You can also use the "directions" feature to show you how far the walk is to the train station. You can plug in the address of the station as "Grosseto F.S." and click the icon for a walking. It appears to be about 20 minutes.

Thanks for the input. Yes, I am finding the Google Maps is more accurate and helpful than Mapquest!
