Pizza in Naples, near train station

Does anyone know of a good pizza place near the central station in Naples? After spending the day exploring Herculaneum and Pompeii, we are going to make a quick jaunt through the Naples archaeological museum before catching the 8:30pm train back to Rome. I don't want to leave Naples with out having some pizza! I was thinking of buying something near the station that we could then take on the train with us since we are so limited on time. Thanks!

Lisa --

My wife and I stopped at a McD's right outside the Naples train station in May on the way to Pompeii. But I believe that the little mall also had a pizza section to it.

Again, it's right outside the station on your right hand side.

Hope this helps.

Bob

The fast food place right next to McD's in the train station had excellent pizza. Maybe a little pricey compared to other places we were used to (I think it was 17,000 for a 12", vs. 10,000-12,000 in less touristy areas.
Go straight across the street from there and past the restaurants along the "square", you will find little snack bars that sell a large cold Coke (1.5L bottle) for cheap.

If you're going through Pompeii - we also stopped at a little outdoor pizzeria just outside the exit from the scavi. It's right next to the toll booth, just before you go up the hill back to the railroad station.
(OK, we succumbed to the guy chasing down customer to come into the restaurant. But, it was good!)

Lisa!
Don't you DARE go to the pizzeria by McD's...it's not real neapolitan pizza and it SUCKS! I know! i live here! The nearest place i can think of is a reataurant right in the piazza called Iris. It has green awning and is on the side of the street where the hotel terminus is. If you go to the other side of the piazza where the statue of giuseppe garibaldi is and walk across the street (behind the statue) and walk about a block up there is also another excellent (and cheap) pizzeria. They also have a specialty that is a fried pizza...it is AWESOME! If you want me to get the name and exact directions email me...it's no problem because I am down there almost every weekend that i am in town. Ciao!!
