Pistoia & Prato: which, both or neither

I have been reading about both of these towns in Tuscany, but haven't yet decided if either is "on my list." If anyone has been to Pistoia or Prato, I would really like to hear your experience and opinions.

Thanks

I live in Pistoia and it is a lovely town. Prato is just up the road from me. It's ok but I prefer Pistoia. Let me know if you would like anymore info.

I know both of them, and I suggest to skip both of them. Nothing really special. Prato is really ugly, except for the Dome and the castle as the single historic buildings, and Pistoia is much better, but I repeat, nothing special. I'd save the time for more beautiful & more interesting destinations.

agree with franco, there is no reason to visit either. Use your valuable time more wisely on superior locations elsewhere or as i would do, allocate more time to locations you really want to visit - visting fewer places for longer is always a better way to go, i reckon.
