Picadilly Line Under Repair '05
Is there any effect if we are coming from London Heathrow going to Victoria Station? Can you please let me know specific name of train (what to look for) to get to Victoria? Are there different types of trains? Tubes / trains, the same? About how much time would it take? Thanks.

The Piccadilly line closure will only affect your travels if you are coming into Terminal 4 at Heathrow. It doesn't affect the other three terminals.
If coming into T4, there is a replacement bus service to take you to one of the tube stations just outside the airport. Or you can take the free Heathrow Express terminal transfer to T123 and take the tube in from there.
I would allow an hour for the trip to Victoria - a bit longer if coming from T4 and have to avoid the construction.

If you're at T4, take the bus to the tube station as Kay says, then get the tube that's NOT going to Heathrow (eastbound end destinations may vary, but they all pass through the centre). If arriving at T1-3, go to the tube station, (not the Heathrow Express train, which is faster into the centre but offers you either a really unreliable direct tube to Victoria, or a connection that means changing tubes). Take any tube from T1-3.
Change at Hammersmith for an eastbound District Line tube, which stops at Victoria.

I'll be in London next week and am curious about the additional travel time needed for the shuttle bus between T4 and Hatton Cross. I know the tfl website says 5-10, but has anyone out there actually done it and can verify how much time it added to their journey?

I used the bust to Heathrow from Hatton Cross. Ten minutes is probably a good estimate. There was some fellow up to something on the bus. I was in the first seat and quickly picked up my luggage. He pushed past me without luggage, and then lingered a bit outside the bus door. He then hounded my niece to get her to give him her 7-Day pass that still had a day left on it. I don't know what he was up to, but he was greying, a bit scruffy, and didn't have any luggage.

Thanks for updates alice and billyb!
alice, sorry to hear your niece was tagged by a wingnut. Arg.
billyb, Are you saying that the signage directing people to stop 20 for the shuttle to Hatton X is not well posted? I appreciate the heads up.
