Hi CAPH, assuming you have called your daughter before once she arrived in Ireland you do know to punch in 011 plus the country code etc. Of course you do!
I had the same problem about a month ago when trying to phone a friend in Italy. I tried several times and got the same message you have heard but finally the next day my call went through.
I sure do not know the reason but assume the lines were overloaded but why?? Typical problem when phoning people in Russia but quite strange when phoning people in Western Europe. Just keep trying, you will eventually get through.

Thank you, LoveItaly. I'll try again tomorrow. It was all the more worrisome 'cause she wasn't answering her e-mails either. I don't know whether there was a problem with her wireless. Or whether she was just out all day!
Just very annoying as I needed to ask her something and couldn't reach her. Fortunately it's something that can wait a day or two without causing huge problems. But, being a mom yourself, I know you understand the worry when you can't reach your child!
