Personal choice

If you have two extra days, and the choice is between Vencie and Prague, which one is more visited?

Thanks

This is a non-sequitur of a question.

Do you want to know which one we would choose or which one is more visited?

On both counts I'd personally say Venice.

In your former post you were asking about train schedules between Austria and Venice.

What happened?

Deb;

Are you now considering Venice instead of Vienna, or was that a slip?

Assuming you meant Vienna, I would say that Prague is more visited.

Personally, i would choose Prague - I find Vienna a little stilted - beautiful and culturally rich, but somewhat stiff and "boring.

You should try and stay in just one or two threads - click on your name.

Aramis...
Thanks for hanging in there with me...LOL, no, we are pretty sure we will take the train to Venice from Salzburg. My husband was disappointed that I was ruling out Prague. He thought this was a mistake, so I suggested if decide between Venice and Prague. He was wondering what this forum would suggest, since many of you have such knowledge. We are new at this, and have trouble deciding what would be the best over-all. But,roundtable discussion our

Thanks Aramis for hanging in there with me..LOL. I am new at this and have a lot of questions. We are more than likely going to take the train from Salzburg to Venice. My husband was a little upset because I was going to drop Prague from our schedule. I was somewhat worried about the crime at the train station, etc. since we were going to travel by train to Prague. I suggested Venice in place of Prague. He wondered what the majority of people on the forum would say....Prague or Venice. Vienna is a for sure. No doubt about that. Munich to Vienna (since it looks like Prague is out) , Vienna to Salzburg. Salzburg to Venice. Maybe this will work. Hope he's not too disappointed.

Thanks everyone for your patience.

And please, non-sequitur question?? Now, truthfully, how many people here "know" what that means?? LOL..... or am I the only person to honestly say I don't?

Okay then now we're getting somewhere

The answer to this would depend on how i was feeling. I love them both. Prague is the best preserved medieval city in Europe and the Czech culture is something we don't get exposed to as much as other European cultures so it fells so different (but still welcoming).

Venice is like no place on Earth - surreal and a living museum. I'm not
ashamed to admit that I teared up when i first stepped out of the Venice rail station and laid eyes on the grand canal.

Venice is pretty much a 90% walking city, but it is flat. Prague has a flat half and a hilly half that might be more challenging to walk.

Maybe the ease of travel between the two back to Munich should be your deciding factor. I know there is an over night train from Venice, I'm not sure if there is from Prague.

Prague is a beautiful city with a lot of interesting sights. We had 3-1/2 very enjoyable days in Prague in November. We're glad we went.

Venice is a beautiful city with a lot of interesting sights, and it is a unique world treasure truly unlike any other city on earth. It's one of the two places we've visited in the last 33 years that we want to revisit again and again.

No contest for us. Venice.
