Pensiones in Florence

For May visit: it's been 10 years since I've been in Florence and I must find a nice, centrally located Pensione for three couples. I'd appreciate any suggestions readers may have.

Many thanks.

Try the Hotel Lombardi
via Fiume 9-50123 Florence.
tel# 055 283151
fax# 055 284808
It is a very nice, updated, little 26 room quiet pensione located off Nazionale.
You will be literally 5 minutes from
the train station, Duomo and the great #2 bus that gets you to all the great museums. Domenico (the owner) speaks fluent English. Ask for a room with a balcony. It is very reasonably priced, includes the standard Italian breakfast,
and has a small lounge where you and your friends may congregate.
Bon Voyage!
Gloria

I have stayed several times (and sent friends here, everyone loves it): Hotel Il Bargellino, Via Guelfa 87, ph (055) 238-2658, fax (055) 238-2698, email: [email protected], website: www.ilbargellino.com.

Carmel (from Boston) is the owner and is helpful with places to eat, etc. Ask for a room on the terrace.

Sandy
