Hi ana maria- I just read your finale and found it to be a most satisfying ending to a great trip report! You have a wonderful way of storytelling that makes me feel like I am right there with you. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your adventures with us.

Thank you JJfern
I just read a great report from last year that had been topped off (the Basque country) and that is the way I will likely write in the future. I know it was tedious to read mine but it was like reliving it for me. My DH is waiting for the movie.
Anyway I am not too good with computers but I am trying to post a photoshow here.

Thanks Scrunchita.
You will see I posted the Codex Menu just for you (part of it anyway) The Salads and deserts I omitted.

We need to go to Codex in addition to Yantar. It was really great and I want to try making the rabbit recipe on their website...although I started a very serious diet today.

Ana Maria,

Thank you so much for your email. I have been a juggling a few too many balls lately (at work... that's good... that's how I can afford vacations ), so I am glad you gave me a heads up for the photos.

They are fantastic I recognized almost all photos right away (including Chocoletaria San Gines ). May I ask if these are still photos or a video compilation? If the former, what software did you use? Finally, whose haunting melodious voice is in the slide show? I loved it.

Hi:

Thank you!
I appreciate you patience I know it was so long.

Comfy, They are still digital photos.

"Photoshow" is the actual name & just one of many similar show packages available on the web. I will tell it is fun & becomes addictive making photoshows of parties or family gatherings.

I would shop the various companies or better yet if you are interested in a similar program you can post on Fodors to see which is the favorite as there may be a better one. In any case the information should appear at the end of the photoshow itself itself, including the music, if not let me know I will forward.

The music was one of the selections from that Photoshow. I am glad you liked the music anyway it it is fun and light but fyi it is not Flamenco really just a Rumba by a group (from England) similar to the Gypsy Kings sound called Calavera. I almost did not use it but it was the best for this purpose on the Phtoshow program.
Anyway we were not in Andalucia and this is not intended to be real flamenco.

I have not yet downloaded any music or else I would pick the Albeniz pice "Castilla" at least for the second part of photos in Castilla!.
Next time...

XXOO

Ana I want to thank you for posting this amazingly detailed and well written report. Truly one of the best I have ever read on this site. And together with the photos...what can I say? The two of you make a handsome couple and you can really see the
joy and spirit in both of you. I am so very glad you made this trip and were able to reap so much pleasure from it.

Do you think those are the same storkies that I saw last year? Or would those be the babies?

You are a true girl after my own heart and I agree wholeheartedly with the proposition for lunch at el Yantar and dinner at Codex. The only question remaining is....cuando?

It is funny what scrunchy said about the storks! I thought exactly the same thing when I saw them.

Ana, the information did appear at the end of the show. You are fine. May be I will try Photoshow one of these days. Far more interesting than still pictures, no doubt about that. No real flamenco because you didn't visit Andalucia? You and Don are purists I have to say I was a bit disappointed to hear Rumba because I thought it may be Pepe de Lucia or Manuel Agujetas or some such guy. But, hey, they sound great and that's what matters.

Thanks again for a good thread. Best wishes.

You are boh so sweet you bring tears to my eyes. quot;>

The trip was a special one for us and we had my parents in our hearts the whole time. My advice to everyone, don't wait too long to do the things that matter to you with your loved ones. When it comes down to choosing between the material things and an experience travel I choose the travel hands down.

Re the Storks, I did not want to volunteer the info but since you asked I learned that they were indeed the same parents on that particular nest and as we said mates for life. But the babies did not survive. The ladies at the Hospederia told me they had an unusual famly in that they had 3 baby storks, she said usually there are one or two. Sad, I hope they are nesting again.

We want to return tp Spain asap but it will likley be a year. We cannot travel for very much longer than 2 weeks. But lets talk about it again for sure. We can rendesvous at the best food places.

And now that the big endless report is over I will have time to read the other forums too. I see you guys are all over the place there!
