Peace at night in Paris

Quiet area near Louvre for Paris hotels. Rate between 300 and 400 dollars a night.Nice neighbourhood quiet streets. Have looked into Opera Cadet but the area may be too noisy for a good nights sleep.Going the 3rd week of March.

Is this the only area you want to stay? Parts of the 6th are relatively quiet as is the 7th which is even more so. As to the Louvre area specifically the Relais du Louvre should be a good choice if you like the smaller, independently owned hotels rather than the chains such as the Intercontinental. I'm sure others will have more recommendations for you.

No, it's not the only area I am interested in staying in. Any recommendations for a location fairly close or elsewhere would be appreciated.

You might try the Mansart, just off the Place Vendôme--an easy walk to the Louvre and any number of good, small restaurants. Double-glazed windows and heavy curtains keep any noise out.

The 7th is delightfully quiet at night. With a $300-400 budget, highly recommend www.parisperfect.com

We are staying in an apartment in the 7th, and while it is somewhat quiet (?), bring earplugs any way!

You will help your cause by requesting an interior room. It may not be as charming but it will be more quiet than street-side.

Look into the Louvre Montana, on rue St Roch, which is a quiet street. I haven't stayed in the hotel for several years, but at the time I liked it very much and the location in the 1st is excellent. Pleasant 10-minute walk to the Louvre.
