I will be in London in November. Where exactly do they give away these sims for free? (I am not flying into heathrow)

lincasanova...you never know. Last summer, as I walked down Oxford Street, there was somebody in front of a T Mobile store handing out free sim cards. You do have to remember, that on all the major UK telcoms, sim cards are free but you have to pay for an initial top up, usually as little as 5 quid. I see people all the time hawking lebara sim cards. The sim cards indeed are free but you pay them 5 quid for your initial top up.

Also most of the UK telcoms, although you have to search a bit, will post to any UK address as many as 4 free sim cards again with no credit on them. You can use your hotel's address if you wish and they will be waiting for you at the hotel.
