Parking up for the night

Me and my sister are travelling through Spain on our way to Portugal in two motor homes . We really wanted to see the beach at San sebastien and travel up the coast a bit. I was wondering where would be safe (and cheap!) to park up for the night?

basically wild camping in Spain is illegal. Some towns/cities have laws about sleeping in motorhomes too. You should find legal sites and use them.
I think you will find the same in Portugal too.

This is in Spanish but gives you areas where one can park overnight and areas where you can discharge tanks etc.

Do not to forget that some roads in Portugal are tolled by electronic "tags". Non Portuguese registered vehicles usually pay the tolls by purchasing paper tickets Read more here.

Parking is difficult in Donostia and there are no camper parks in the city for overnight parking. You will probably have to park at one of the campsites. Parking in the summer is always a challenge.
