Parking at Piazzale Michelangelo??

We are staying at a villa in Tavernelle v di Pesa and we only have one full day to visit Florence. I was hoping I could drive to Porta Romana and follow some route to Piazzale Michelangelo. I know buses congregate there and we can take a bus # 12 or 13 down to Florence for the day. My questions are:
What route is best? Can I park there all day until 9:30 at night?? Do the buses run that late?
Much appreciate any advice. I don't want to drive into Florence!

Can you not get a bus from near your villa or the nearest small town ? It would be much easier & less stressful.

hi, sunny,

folowing up on caroline's sugggestion, I googled your destination. It looks lovely.

I'm afraid I didn't find and obvious answer to your dilemma, but if you do the same, if you select the top choice, you will find a link to the tourist office. other sites will link you to teh SITA bus web-site, but I didn't manage to get details of buses to your town if there are any. however, the tourist office/villa agent should know.

if you decide to drive, the florence site has a map of car parks in florence and another of local buses.

good luck!

regards, ann

Thank you for your advice. We probably should take a bus but we wanted to stay late to have dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in Florence. I will check with the owners of the villa. They should be able to advise us.

Yes you can park there all day. And all night too, I believe! Bus #13's ride is lovely up and down the hill but it does take a convoluted urban route to and fro.

Vivi,

Thank you for your reply. I was hoping that would be easy to do and take the looping ride down on bus #13 and maybe a taxi back after dinner.
