Hi. You might be thinking of the Parc Astrix. This is possibly France's answer to Disneyland Paris. This is a park based on the cartoon charaters Astrix and Obelisk-not well know in the states. You can visit their web site at www.parcasterix.com
My French friends that have visited the park with their family really like the park. The same family has year passes to Disney-Paris.
Hope this was a help to you.
Sincerely,
Michael

I was just in Paris and I think I know which park you may be talking about.
I went to one in the middle of the city I believe I entered at Concorde Place and went out towards La Louvre (spelling?).
I was there at night time so didn't get to see how green it was, but there were plenty of rides and typical carnival type of booths.
I have a toddler so wanted something for small kids and there were plenty of things. There are plenty for adults as well.
Looks like the park is nice for the day time too as I saw what seemed to be a pond that looks like you can put toy boats in and play ( at least I saw boats in it).

Micia above is refering to the Tuileries Garden where there is a fun fair during two or three months each year (don't remember when).

I too suppose the OP was thinking about the "Parc Asterix", situated north of Paris, which is the only one which could be compared with Dysneyland. I never went there but heard positive comments.

I have been to Parc Asterix - - and I rate it a "7", as an amusement park - - less Disneyland-like - - perhaps more comparable to Cedar Point or Kings Island, but definitely not as good in the roller coaster ("montagnes russes") department.

And not particularly "American-ized" if that is important to you, or at least a "Galligized" version of some forms of "western culture". You can get a fast "sanglier (boar) burger", for example. I don't know if it really does come from a sanglier, but the mere idea wouldn't go over in Orlando, I wouldn't think.

Best wishes,

Rex
I went to Parc Asterix in 1993 with my kids. It has more exciting rides than Disney, including "Le Grand Huit", a roller coaster with 8 loop the loops. I got sick just looking at it.

The Parc has an Asterix character theme and is more suitable for teens. It is located northeast of Charles DeGaulle Airport. I believe there is some bus connection, but we were home exchanging in the Paris suburbs and got there by car.
