Parisapied vs. Paris Walks

I am trying to compare these two companies and I seek opinions from anyone who knows their tours personally. Both groups offer three hour tours using native English speaking guides. Both tour essentially the same places. Parisapied charges $45 to be paid before you leave the States. Paris Walks charges only $10 and you can pay when you are there. Would anyone with personal experience be so kind as to compare the companies for me? Thank you.

I took a Paris Walks tour of Montmartre last month and it was excellent. I have taken walking tours in many countries and this was as good as any. I would find it hard to justify the $45 for Paris a Pied, when Paris Walks charges only $10 with no advance obligation.

Is there a web site for Paris Walks? Did you wait until you were in Paris to make reservations or did you just show up where they meet?

In May with Paris Walks I just showed up at the Metro stop, payed my 10 =euro; and went on the tour. If the weather was bad I wasn't going. Luckily the weather was decent.

Stacey - I have been on four of the Paris Walks over three visits and I enjoyed them all and found them very informative. I looked at the Paris-a-pied website but the only thing that stuck out was that their groups are under ten people, I believe. I had no problem with the larger size of the ParisWalks groups at all, more like 15 or so. The ones I took were in March or September. I am going back to Paris next week and am planning on taking a half-day trip with them to Vaux-le-Vicomte. They have answered my questions very promptly by email.

Martha, David, and Mara - Thanks so much for responding. It sounds like Paris Walks will be just fine for me. I didn't even realize they offered day excursions also. I will look into that as well. Thanks again.
