Paris- using Marriott points

Using points at Marriott next month ...options are Rennaisance Le Parc Trocadero or Marriott Rive Gauche; staying for 5 nighs so want comfort and ability to get around. Any thoughts?

Not the Rive Gauche. Way out from Central. Trocadero is better, can walk down to Trocadero and watch Eiffel Tower sparkling.

The area of the Trocadero is nicely upscale. You will also be able to walk to Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysee...but I would think ability to finish every day by stopping at Trocadero and saying goodnight to Eiffel.. not bad at all.

A lot of folks on MR Insiders seem to like the Champs Elysees property.

Do a search on Paris at www.marriottrewardsinsiders.com

As a blanket statement, I would not stay on the Champs.

In my romantic mind, it is a place of wonder, where "le tout monde" goes, models, glamour. And then, after one visit, you realize..not really it. Expensive, not a lot of character, lots of commerce, and better places to eat elsewhere.
