Nope, nothing.

Either we didnt get the right email or this guy rarely checks some emails on all the different e mails he has listed.

Maybe it'll be like Madison and one day I just run into him the next time I'm in Paris.

Nevertheless I did send an email thanking him for being such a kind, decent and considerate person and saying if we ever have coffee in Paris I promise I wont take him to the hospital

As the saying goes: NEXT

Oh Mahya2, this is not the romantic conclusion I have envisioned! Waiting is not my strong suit, but I will try to be patient. This has been, by far, the most fun posting I have ever followed! Best to you and best wishes for your health.

thanks Paris53

but it would make a great tv show. Have you seen Debra Messing in " the Starter Wife" ? She's a great comedian. I think if we dye her hair dark brown she'd be perfect for my part.

Mayha2,
I've been following along with this thread but missed since Oct. 15 when we left for our Europe trip. I was so hoping you'd have found Girard by now. I asked several nice looking Frenchmen if they were Girard, but they all looked at me like I was nuts.
I did find a good looking one named Olivier, we stood in line for over an hour to get into the Catacombs in Paris. DH, Olivier and I had a great visit. Then his parents showed up and we all continued the conversation as we inched towards the entrance. Just when I thought he might be a nice substitute for your Girard, he mentioned a wife and kids. Darn, thought I had a good prospect for you. We even exchanged business cards, so I have his phone, full name, email and address. AND, he lives in Miami now. See, even people you don't know were hoping for a good romantic outcome from all this.
Please keep us posted, and maybe print the thread and sell it to a magazine or something.

CHalliman,

I'm glad you had a wonderful trip. I can't wait to go back again. I have had to cancel a cruise and forego any travel until I get this health thing settled.

You have me laughing. See how nice it is to talk to strangers ? And how nice of you to be looking for me (but nix on the married men -grin)

On a more serious note, I will have to have a similar procedure to the one that Aussie5's husband had - and it is inconvenient at this time since I need to get my affairs in order and so many loose ends to be tidied up before doing such a thing.

I have just been talking to an astrologer who is quite well known and phenomenal in his predictions. Astrology is a matter of mathematics and he was one who even gave the date of the Xmas Tsunami a couple of years ago. We are trying to pick a good date for a successful surgery, and in looking at the events of that evening astrologically, we concur, I almost bought the farm!

Kismet - had it not been for Gerard and the French doctors at the restaurant giving me aspirin and insisting on an ambulance and hospital, I might not have been here to write the funny story. So,we might say nothing is by accident, even if it is just two ships passing in the night.

Mahya, best wishes as you prepare for surgery. Please keep us posted as we'll be thinking of you and wishing you all the best for a successful outcome. I think I need to consult an astrologer. Any recommendations?

Mahya2, I sure wish you well with your surgery. I know nothing about astrology, but I do know that whatever brings you comfort and peace will help you get through this time.
Someone with your spirt and love of adventure will be coming back soon telling us about the adventures of the surgery and perhaps, the good looking doctor that fixed you up!
PLEASE keep us posted on how you are doing.

Hi Mahya,

Wondering when you are booked in for your procedure. My husband is doing just fine. Most importantly he feels like a weight of pressure has been lifted as he can stop worrying now.

Good luck to you.

Thank you Ladies for your good wishes. All prayers gratefully accepted. I'm looking at either the end of November or end of December for the surgery, but many have suggested I get a second opinion before rushing into this.

And yes, Aussie, it is a weight on the mind !

Post Script :

Well I have now been through the surgical procedure on Dec 17 - and am recuperating. All went well in the 2 hour operation, except that I woke up half way through, told them I was awake and that my heart was beating very fast - they must have been shocked as all get out - because the nurse anesthesiologist said she was giving me morphine and more something or other - but I wasn't in any pain - I just thought I'd let them know I was awake !!! LOL. Could only happen to me!

I think what woke me up was their bringng on the tachycardia - as Aussie explained was the purpose of the operation -

So I've been sleeping a lot - recuperating at home - no pain - no episodes - but an allergic reaction to the antibiotic they put in the intravenous - swollen face and red itchy all over - I'm allergic to penicillin and think they gave me derivative which was too close to penicillin.

Other than that, have already booked a cruise to Southern Spain in time for La Feria in Seville (April 28)
with a stopover in Paris of course,
and working on a September trip to Greece.

AUSSIE, how is your hubby making out?

Best Regards to all,

M.

Hey Mahya,

Good to hear from you. So glad everything went well. My husband has been for his check up and all is good. He can say he is cured and he seems to be!!

We are going to France and Spain in July. Will be in Paris from 28th June for 5 days. Can't wait.

Have a wonderful holiday season. For us here in Oz it is the start of our summer break.

Very happy to be leaving work for a 10 day break in a matter of hours.

Hi Mahya!

I'm so glad that everything went well with your surgery. Well, apart from waking up during, of course-- scary!

Hope this sovles your heart problem.

The trips you have planned sound wonderful. You definitely have great things to look forward to!
