Germany trip
We want to travel to Berlin and Munich. We also want to add one more city. We were thinking Copenhagen or Salzberg. Does anyone recommend one over the other and/or another city? We already were in Prague, Vienna, Budapest.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Salzburg is an easy 2hr train ride from Munich. You can easily do a daytrip. If you are driving and have the time Ludwig's version of Versailles, Herren Chiemsee, is midway between and Berchtesgaden Is very close to Salzburg. How much time do you have? You might be able to do them both.

You can get to Salzburg easily by train from Munich. It is withing the zone served by the Bayern ticket that costs 29 Euros for up to 5 people for travel after 9am. The old town in Salzburg is served from the train station by frequent busses.

I agree with kfusto. Copenhagen is pleasant enough, but it doesn't compare to Salzburg. I think you'd really enjoy seeing Newschwantstein and Herrenschwangau, which are very close to each other. You could take a tour out of Munich or else take the train from Munich to Fussen and a bus to the castles.
They are well worth seeing.

Third time's a charm. I've been to both Copenhagen and Salzburg and Salzburg wins, hands down. Not only is Salzburg more interesting than Copenhagen, but the ease of getting there from Munich (and the cheap train fare) make it even more appealing.
