Paris to Mont St. Michel?

Paris to Mont St. Michel?
I am going for two weeks to Paris and want to take a day trip from there to Mont St. Michel. I know it can be done using the TGV, to Rennes, I believe, and then getting a bus. Has anyone out there done this trip in a day? I would like any info about the bus line/ reservations, etc.

OK .. let's try this for a THIRD time... and assume that posting are limited by word length: <BR> <BR>Frances: <BR> <BR>I have never had the time to do the trip, but just in case no-one else responds..... <BR> <BR>I think the general consensus on the board has been that a day-trip to Mont St Michel is challenging, but not impossible, as there is no direct transport from Paris (change to a local train or bus). You must set out early in the morning to get the best out of the day. <BR> <BR>You can do a tour through Paris Tours, but it is a long day (pick up at 7 am, return at about 10 pm, includes lunch and dinner and I thought a bit expensive. <BR> <BR>I have resurected answers to a similar post which may help in your plans. Take the train (TGV) to Rennes (from Gare Montparnesse). At Rennes you switch to a train to Pontorson. At Pontorson you take a bus to Mont Saint Michel About 4 hours total. You can also take a day trip with ParisVisions. For more Paris information e-mail me- [email protected]
