Paris: The So-Called "Offbeat"

A canal ride is very relaxing as all you have to do is look and admire the architecture you have seen before.
Also just walking about stopping to rest whenever is relaxing too.
( I walked once from the lovely Mirabeau Bridge , the one beyond the Statue of Liberty all the way to Bastille Square and then back along the other side of the Seine...... stopping to rest and just people watch at the Ile de la Cite).

Hi Dukey1,
If you make it to Sacre Coeur, I found the 12-Century Saint Pierre de Montmarte, next to the SC, far more interesting. It's definitely worth a peek inside.
Also, I like to walk, so I've decided that, to visit the Basilica St Denis, I'll walk along the Canal St Denis. I found a post from someone who walked back to Paris along that path in 2010, and kerouac posted that construction would be finished in 2011 and the path would be "lovely."

If you (kerouac) have an update for the canal path, I'd love to hear it, and maybe Dukey1 would also be interested.
Have fun as you plan!
