Paris Taxi

Gare du Nord to Gare Saint Lazar !!
I have an unfortunate glitch in my travel plans I think. I arrive from London on the Eurostar at Gare du Nord at 12:47 hours. I must catch a train to Caen at 13:42 at Gare Saint Lazar. If I get a cab can I get to Gare Saint Lazar in time to catch the 13:42 train to Caen ?? I am worried that customs etc. may take so long that I won’t be able to get to Gare Saint Lazar by 13:42. Any advice would be highly appreciated… Ron

you won't go through any immigration/customs at Gare du Nord, that is done at the London end.

Oh -- but the taxi queue at Gare du Nord can be quite long -- especially right after a Eurostar arrives.

If you are travelling Business Premier, you can book a taxi on board : http://www.eurostar4agents.com/trave...hancements.htm

Yes, it will be tight but it is possible. As janisj notes, you do the formalities before boarding in London so on arrival in Paris just hustle off the train and out to the taxi rank. Leaving the train, walk toward the main part of the station, at the end of the platform turn right and continue out the door to the taxi rank. The queue can be long but usually moves pretty quickly.

Your questioned roused my curiosity as no one mentioned the RER as an option. This web site says it takes longer than a taxi. However, I have several times been in taxis queues at Gare du Nord of 20-30 minutes. I'm not sure which I would do.

When you get into the taxi, from Gare du Nord it's about 10 minutes drive maybe 15 minutes. In think you will be fine, but just make sure you head straight for the taxi stand asap! The taxi line looks horrible at first, but the line doesn move along.
