Paris Street Fashions- NOT!
I just came upon www.streetpeeper.com which captures supposed "street fashion" in cities around the world. These are mostly high fashion outfits but I LOVE seeing the people in the background that DO offer glimpses of everyday street wear.

Some of the women in the photos are well-known fashionistas in Paris and are named in the photos. These men and women don't really represent Paris street fashion (hence the title of my post) but they do show what is currently coming out of the high priced fashion houses as well as low priced stores like H&M and Zara.

Even in the French papers, I sometimes guffaw when they do a little article about "street fashion". You'll have maybe 5 photos of slightly chic yet ordinary people with the captions along the lines of "Oh, I just wear anything. I got this T-shirt at the flea market for 3 euros, and the jacket was a real steal at XXX for 250 euros, my skirt is from H&M for 29 euros and the boots are from YYY for 530 euros." Yeah, real street fashion. We all spend our money that way.

Yes amwosu, Carine and Alt and That Italian woman, whose name escapes me (she dates Carine's son,) are all involved with the height of the fashion world and are not to be considered as the average person seen on the streets of Paris

I have been looking at Streetpeeper, Tavi, Marquis de Lannes, Emperor's Old Clothes, The Sartorialist, Altamira, etc. for a long time. My fav is jak/jil, which is also one of Mimi's favs. Of course, most of the people in these photos are part of the fashion posse--people like Danielle Steel's daughter Vanessa Traina, a fashion stylist. She can afford a 2K Givenchy headband.
Right now, I am really digging Alexander McQueen and his muse Lady Gaga. The future really looks brighter with these two on the scene.
I am most appreciative of Kerouac for all the wonderful photo collages that he posts here. They keep this forum interesting.
Thank you, K.

As Thin and cigalechanta have said, t's a sculpture in the Tuileries called Clara-Clara.

Personally, I hate it in that location, as it disrupts the views.
