Paris-Station to Versailles

We are staying in the 15th arrondissement. I wanted to know where is the closest RER station to go to Versailles?
Thanks,

Juan Carlos

Depending on your exact location, the station is probably "Javel" on the RER C line which is located near the Seine on Rue de Javel. Have a nice trip!!! Mike

I think Javel is a very good guess.
Sounds to me like Barbmike knows Paris fairly well.

Two other stations south of Javel on RER line C are Boulevard Victor and Issy-Val de Seine.

Depending on where your hotel is located, you could also take Metro line 8 to Invalides and board a C5 train there.

Invalides is a huge station and when I went there to take the train to Versailles Rive Gauche, I thought I was walking to Versailles.

I think it all depends on where your hotel is located with respect to the Metro and RER stops.

The Javel station could be within walking distance of your hotel.
That would make for a nice trip.

Hi Obi

Go to http://www.ratp.fr/index_eng.htm

Click on "Route Finder"

Enter your hotel's address

Enter Versailles (You want RER Rive Gauche)

When you depart from the RER station, it's a good place to buy your entrance ticket for Versailles if you don't have a museum pass. It'll save waiting in line at the chateau/ Further, unlike the museum pass, the ticket you buy at the RER station is good for admission to the gardens (at least it was in May 2002).

And don't forget to retain your RER ticket in order to exit the station--you put your ticket back in to exit.
