Paris right now?

Hi. We have a flight from Prague to Paris this Thursday, just staying in Paris for 1 day on a long layover, then departing Friday back to the U.S.

Should we be canceling this trip due to strikes and fuel supply? Will we be able to get a cab? Will the river cruises still run? Will we chance not being able to depart home from Paris? We are booked on AF.

Thanks!!

Karen

If your flight is operating, there are no other problems in Paris at the moment. Metro and RER are running, museums are open, peasants are running through the streets with pitchforks...

Once in Jakarta we were caught between the police and protestors with real pitchforks

We're in Paris now and have seen no effects from the strike...well, except for the occasional demonstration which has been more like street entertainment than anything else. The Metro is running like clockwork, taxis everywhere, museums and shops open as usual. I think international flights have been running a little late.

There are always demonstrations in Paris, most staidly entertaining. There are also frequent strikes and intermittent general strikes. Most are peaceful and short-lived, though at times greatly inconveniencing.

Enjoy your time in paris.
