Paris Restaurant "Le Suffren"
Just stumbled across a video presentation of one of our favorite spots:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3T_58i750tA
It's a block away from the Champs de Mars. An 8PM dinner reservation gives us plenty of time to enjoy our meal and then walk over to see the twinkling lights on the Eiffel Tower at 10PM.
From the Ecole Militaire Metro you walk down Ave. de la Motte-Picquet. It's straight ahead on the corner of Ave. Suffren.

This is not exactly a gastronomic temple, just the kind of neighborhood establishment that Paris is famous for. Convivial atmosphere, attractive decor, efficient service and good solid meals.

We had the nicest dinner there in 1997 on our first trip dedicated to Paris (2nd trip to Europe). A lovely older woman, who was a professor of some kind, opened a conversation with us, asked what we had seen so far, recommended a couple of things, and wished us a pleasant visit. Very charming.
