PARIS PUBLIC TRANSPORT HELP - Please.
dear people!
would anyone be so kind to help me, what kind of metro ticket i need to buy when coming to paris?
i am arriving at CDG on thursday 6 pm and leaving again on sunday 8 pm.
what is the cheapest ticket for me? is it true that i cannot get a carte orange for my stay, because it is only available until wednesday night?
any help will be very much appreciated, thank you!

Hi a,
Unless you plan not to walk, buy a 'carnet' of 10 tickets for about 11E.
Good on all buses and the metro.
You can use one ticket to transfer from train to train, but you need a new ticket for each bus.
Bus and train directions and maps are at www.ratp.fr.

I agree with ira. For the days you will be in Paris, a ten-ticket carnet is probably your best choice. Paris is great for walking and you may not take public transportation as often as you think you will.
Individual tickets are good on the RER within zones 1-2 as well as the metro and bus.
If you know you will be taking repeated rides on a given day, you could buy a one-day Mobilis pass for that day for zones 1-2 (E5.40). A carnet (E10.40) plus a Mobilis pass is still less that a three-day Paris Visite pass for zones 1-3 (E18.25).
You will not be able to get a Carte Orange because Wednesday is the last day they are sold for the current week.

The simplest is probably to buy one ticket to take you into town, then a pack of ten to get you through your stay in Paris, then another ticket to get you back to the airport when you leave.
If you have anything more than a carry-on bag, you might wish to consider a taxi rather than public transport for getting to and from the airport, particularly when you arrive. It's more expensive but vastly more comfortable.
