Paris Perfect - Beaujolais apt.

Hello Fodorites,
I've been following this board for months planning our trip to Paris. We have contacted Paris Perfect and they have availability for this apartment. Has anyone stayed here? I know Paris Perfect has an excellant reputation here. Looking for any opinions on this apartment and the area.
Thanks.

I believe if you check Scarlett's Trip Report, you'll see that she rented from ParisPerfect.

I believe that is the one we stayed in. Negatives: no A/C, tiny bathrooms, advised to take shoes off due to the creaky floors and no sound proofing. Offset by great location & view and large living room w/ outside tables(useable if you are very thin only). JP

I looked at in on the website when Scarlett rented her place. It did look small and no way could my almost 6'5'' spouse stay there.

I can't seem to find Scarlett's trip report, which mentions her stay in this apt. Can someone please post a link to it?

Merci

I'm sure Scarlett will find this post and answer more specifically, but I know she said they stayed in one that was ON Rue Cler (possibly the one called Pomerol?), and the Beaujolais apartment is 3 blocks away from Rue Cler, so don't think you are talking aobut the apartment they were in.

Bonsoir, mes amis!
Scarlett has found this thread

bizzyb, (love that name)
We stayed in the Pomerol.
As far as the way they look compared to the photos on their site- they are exactly the same as in the pictures!
We were quite pleased with the apt..although the building was a bit on the shabby side. The location was perfect, on rue de Grenelle and corner of rue Cler.
Very very clean, the management takes great care of you. The apts are furnished very nicely with good linens, plenty of towels and pillows and blankets ( comforters) DVDs, Cds and books.
The kitchen is stocked with what you will need, they give you a little Welcome basket that has milk and wine etc.
I say go You will most likely love it.
Scarlett

Thanks all for the responses. I am still checking into other apartments. Several mentioned on Fodors are not available during our time. I was excited about Vacation in Paris #74 but when I inquired they are booked thru Nov. WOW! I am looking at Sept.

You might want to try vrbo #9718 (www.chezmichelaparis.com). We stayed here in 2003 and found the apartment to be deluxe in every way. Truly elegant! The American owner is delightful to deal with, and the apartment is extremely well located in the 7th, bordering the 6th. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. That said, we will be staying in Paris Perfect's Cabernet apartment for a week next month, as we were looking for an apartment with a balcony in a different neighborhood. I'll be happy to report back to one and all.

I love this discussion of ParisPerfect because I am searching for the perfect apartment for next year when I take my son to Paris. I have been eying the Pinot for a number of reasons, balcony, toilet in a separate room close to the bedroom (I'm an old fogey), bed makes into singles (in case we don't want to do the sofabed route). I'd love to hear from anyone who has stayed there. It's very expensive, but nothing is too good for my art-major son who HATES to fly. (I'll never get him back there again.)

LVSue, our son stayed with us a few nights in our apt, Pomerol. That sofa turns into a double bed! You pull out a bed that is underneath, give it a lift and it pops up to be the rest of the bed, so you have two twins or one double. He just ended up tossing all the cushions off and sleeping on the top twin..very soft and comfy too with big puffy down comforters.
Because the bathroom ( tub/shower/sink) is seperate from the WC(toilet/sink off the kitchen) we were all fairly comfortable in such a small apt.
What fun you will have

I hope so, Scarlett! He is flying in next week (something he never does—would rather drive 10 hours, but he wants to work around unexpectedly re-scheduled kids' baseball games), so I'm hoping for a firm commitment.

I've been following your stay in Paris (I tend to lurk), and, to be frank, it's the reason I'm leaning toward PP. You all certainly had a great time, and it sounded like great digs.

Another choice that I haven't seen reviewed here is Hotel Home, www.hotelhome.fr They combine apartment/hotel living...you have an apartment with bedroom, living room, fully equipped kitchen, but you also have 24 hour service, maid service, etc. They are located on the rue George Sand in the Auteuil/Jasmin section of the 16th, a nice part of Paris with an upscale village feel (and good bus/metro links), great outdoor food market twice a week, lots of cafes, little restaurants and shops. Within easy walking distance of the Marmottan. We rented an apartment (not from them) on that street for over a month and really enjoyed the neighborhood. When I was in Paris last week-end, I went by to check out the HotelHome apartments and they seemed quite nice.
I wouldn't recommend the neighborhood for a first time visitor to Paris, but if you've been there before and want to enjoy Parisian life away from the more heavily touristed areas, it's a good location.

I have stayed in various ParisPerfect apts for the last 3 yrs. and have seen just about all of them. By Paris standards Beaujolais is a nice apt. but by Paris Perfect's standards it is one of their lower end ones as you can tell by comparing the price to Madelyn's other listings on the ParisPerfect website.
