Paris "Passages"

I have just read a 1988 article about the "passages" (covered shopping areas from mid-1800s). Can anyone lead me to a website that might have more current info (I am coming up empty-screened)? We are headed back to Paris in late April, and I don't want to try to locate something that may now be a parking lot (or do we only do that here in the U.S.?)

Hi Beth,

Oh, they're still there! I don't know of any particular websites, but most tourbooks that I've read mention exact locations.

Jennifer

The ones in my guidebook are all in the Opéra-Bourse area, between Bvd Montmartre and Rue St-Marc, and between Rue du Quatre Septembre and Rue des Petits Champs. For websites try searching on 'Passage des Panoramas', 'Galerie Vivienne', 'Passage Jouffroy', 'Passage Verdeau'

Duh! - I have become so addicted to searching the web for info I didn't even go to the various guidebooks I have!! And, as I should have known too, there was info already here on Fodor's and my thanks to whoever topped the "rainy day things" so I could see it. Thanks to all of you.
