All of you who lose weight when you travel--are any of you from Manhattan? Because--I don't think I walk much more when I travel than when I'm at home, because we walk a lot here. What's you experience, Manhattan people (esp. women)?

Miss Piggy, I was in Paris in September and in 12 days I lost 8 pounds and I ate what I wanted but didn't overindulge. The key was I walked everywhere, had boundless engergy and the walking took away some of my appetite.

I loved the baguette sandwiches but what saved me from eating all that bread was going to the Tuileries Gardens or Luxembourgh Gardens and sharing it with the sparrows and pigeons.

Don't you get extra points for exercising. You will accumulate plenty with all the walking you will be doing. So don't worry about it and have a wonderful trip.

Eat anything you want in moderation. With all the walking you will be doing you will be surprised at how much you won't crave food. Have fun

After dreaming of our return to Paris and all the pastry I was going to eat, I was quite suprised to find that due to jet lag I was not that hungry for several days! It was quite a disappointment! Not to worry though, I made up for lost time after several days. I was suprised to find that I had lost weight when I returned home.

How about this - wake up, eat some sort of breakfast, start walking. Get hungry, stop and get a croissant, maybe chocolate- or raspberry-filled. Keep walking, get hungry for lunch, eat a sandwich or another croissant - this one ham or spinach filled. Keep walking, eat some fruit or something for an after-lunch dessert. Keep sightseeing, have another afternoon snack. Phew- done for the day, time for dinner! You've saved so many points and have walked so much, creme brulee is well deserved.

WeightWatcher, you sound like my kind of traveler. Do you want to come along?! Here are the things I worry about; Croque Monsieur (I LOVE those things), wine (2 points per glass!), croissants I can probably pass on (whew!), pastries with chocolate, wine (a couple more points won't hurt!), sauces (let's throw 10 points on that 4 point piece of fish!), wine (hic!), fois gras (forget about it!), cheese, wine..... But one day at a time. Make good choices, walk (I want my bike), ice skate free at Hotel de Ville, and be glad that I'm in Paris!!!

I don't get it, I really don't. You're going to be in Paris!!!!! The food is sooooo amazing there. Just enjoy yourself. You're only going to be there for a week!

Why get so hung up? Why not indulge in one of life's greatest pleasures? Just be strict when you return. Enjoy! And don't sweat the small stuff.
