cynthia...the original UK version is what you are looking at. The Frommer's version is less:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...walks+in+paris
...three bucks for the 2008 version, but the newer version is still pretty steep.
However, there seems to be a version that they call 2010 (but LOOKS like the 2011 edition) here for $17:

Might find it other places, too.

K...
Yikes...mine starts off with The Birthplace of the City (Ile de la Cite)...Markets of les Halles isn't in it at all, though one walk includes the Jardin du Forum des Halles.
That particular edition must be mis-labeled by the vendor (unless the 2008 Frommer's edition was a re-print of an earlier UK edition).
<sigh!>
Oh well...tried to help...my edition has a bunch of good walks, and we've always done two or three on each visit with only very minor out-of-date issues.
We loved the one called Art Nouveau to Art Deco which was a circular walk starting and ending at Metro Ranelagh and including a lot of Guimard buildings.
K...have you ever posted one of your photo essays on "Any Port..." from that area? That would be a great motivator for those folks looking for an interesting off-the-tourist-area walk.

I second Ira's plan for Sunday (tomorrow):
"Since you will be on Boul Hausmann, here is an off-the-beaten-path thing for you to do on a Sunday:
Walk through the Parc Monceau in the morning. Then go to http://www.musee-jacquemart-andre.com/en for brunch. After brunch visit the museum"
A perfect Sunday in Paris.

If you find the Jacquemart-André a bit too stuffy, you might want to check out the Palais de Tokyo: http://www.anyportinastorm.proboards...ene-apocalypse

Continued thanks to all.
We wandered the 6th arrondissement, and the river area yesterday, jet lagged zombies, but we pressed on! Had an ok dinner, with a nice Bordeaux, then
found wonderful gelato after. Our kids were thrilled to know we placed a lock with all of our names on the bridge (you see, I am inclined to tourist things)!
We are already enamored of this city!

Adrienne and Gretchen,
thanks for making me aware of my mistake. We will remove the lock later in the trip, as we kept the
keys.
Michael, you know nothing of my children! How dare you?
I will send you healing, reiki energy in the hope that you learn kindness and forgiveness.

Probably 'nuff said, but how can anyone think all those locks are cute or pretty on those gorgeous bridges.
