Joan,

I told you everyone would want you to share your Paris adventures with us. I'm so glad that we get to go along for the ride!

You're killing me with the food photos though!

Dear Joan, Enjoying your stroll through Paris -seeing old friends, eating great food and giving us daily updates. It is always fun to ride along esp. on a rainy day here in the states. I would love some of that hot chocolate and a baguette or maybe the crab salad and some wine -or maybe the Cafe Constant plat du jour....oh heck I'll take it all!
I have fond memories of that very spot you described under the stairs at Constants. Mr.MB and I spent many an hour there; we loved the atmosphere, the locals and the smiling, knowledgable staff who gave us french lessons!

Thanks for including us on your travels. Would love to see more apt. pics if possible!

I know it is the end of the week, but have you come across some cafes that are open on sunday, I get in early and will be roaming around till rooms are ready. Thanks again for the pics, just reminding me how wonderful french food is to me, and well hungry this morning.

Acacia,

What area will you be in? You will find brasseries open. If you happen to be in/near ave Lamotte-Picquet in the 7th a good spot for something better is Pasco's. Good spot!

moneyburns:
What kind of apt. pics are you looking for..here is one that is directly in front of me in my bed..very pretty at nice, too:

It is grey out, but warm. I went down to Cafe Constant for petite dejeuner this morning. Christian was there and we visited and Catherine came in, too and we chatted and talked a bit about our Thanksgiving plans!!

I will wander out shortly for some things and will be meeting Sue at Spring this evening. Need to email l'Obe re Sunday reservations for time I asked for to double check...

Sue and I will be going to the President Wilson MArket on Sat. She has never been. We will have a petite dejeuner across the Seine with the ET view, wander the top designer shop area and see where we might want to drop in...might have to watch the weather for showers...

I am staying in the 15th, alone the Seine near Pont de Grenelle bridge. A 10 min walk for me to the Iron Lady. But I have no problem going around the city, will be doing walking so getting over to the 7th would not take me long.
Loving your shots of the Tower and the surrounds buildings. Looking up the Pasco's
I have got so many sticky notes all over my desk at work of places to go eat and still watch my budget, that is always fun. You find more interesting places that won't break you while you are there.

What a lovely view you have! I just like to see the decor Paris Perfect installs in their apts. It is always very "designer" looking with the owner's beautiful taste.

Enjoy the days ahead!

Joan,
Nice picture of the Eiffel Tower. Which PP apartment are you in this trip?

Bonsoir,

This was the first visit for new Spring!! Daniel is still the same friendly Daniel, serving and spending time with all guests. Because I have several reservations with him this trip I asked how often he changed the menu..twice a day. What we had tonight he had never served before!!

Things are just different..most interesting tases, flavore.

There was a private party below in the Bevette. He has not finished the upstairs. Still has some things he wants to do. Attractive, modern decor. Nice. Tables nicely spaced. Good help.

We had two different wines and champagne to start off with.

Would I return..yes, and I will return in two weeks with Florent and Michael. Now, that will be fun!

Some photos below. I don't think I have them all.

That's making my supper look just a bit pedestrian.

Joan,

So nice of you to give us all a little taste of Paris every day that you are there!

We enjoyed the new Spring last month but I do miss the intimate atmosphere of the old place. Daniel certainly is the same Daniel, witty, humble, down to earth and as talented as ever. We had a great meal and I wish we had had time for lunch and the new wine bar as well. Next time.......

I'm looking forward to your next posts!

Jo

Hi Jo,

Daniel said you were there recently. I did not get to see the wine bar with the private party. Will see it next time. Back on the 18th with Florent and Michael.

Yes, it is quite different than the other spot. Easier to get to, though!

It looks nice out, but I think some changes on the way.

Each morning I look forward to hearing about your day while sipping coffee from my Paris mug (whose handle has sadly broken off, but I refuse to get rid of it). Your pics & narratives are making a rainy week in NJ seem nicer. I miss Paris!

I was out of town this week so am just now catching up on what you've been doing; wonderful pictures and commentary, as usual! You must be having a great time; wish I were there!

I was so taken with your breakfast pictures I went to the best deli in our neighborhood and bought a baguette and some lingonberry jam (note: I know it's not French) and made tartines this morning with Lurcas butter. Made the mistake of making some incredibly expensive Indian instant coffee to go with it, and spat it out immediately and replaced with a good Italian roast.

And I'm not even a coffee and tartine person...your photos just made me pine for stuff that looked and tasted Parisian. I think I got it about half right:(
