What are your interests...and what are the top ten?
Museums...Moyen Age, Marmottan, Rodin, Jaquemart Andre, Carnavalet, Orangerie, Nissim Camondo, Arts Decoratifs, Picasso, Photographie, Armee,Crypte Archeologique (Notre Dame),etc....
Sites..Palais Royale, Places des Vosges, Place Vendome, Tuileries, Luxembourg gardens, Ile St Louis, Conciergerie, Parc Monceau, Parc Buttes Chaumont. Bercy, Promenade Plantee, Catacombes, Sewers, St Chapelle, etc...
How much time do you have? What is your current itinerary...you will not see everything.

We were in Paris in 2006 and, because it was my husband's first time, we saw the "top 10". Then we happened on a brochure with a painting on the cover that we really liked, so we decided to go see it. It was the Musee Cognacq-Jay (8 Rue Elzevir, between Rues de Francs-Bourgeois and du Parc-Royal) in the Marais. It's the complete collection of 18th century art acquired by one couple (Ernest Cognacq and Louise Jay), with works by (among others)Fragonard, Watteau, Rembrandt, Gainsborough,La Tour, some fine furniture, porcelains,etc. After touring some of the larger museums, which, though wonderful, can also be tiring, spending time in this intimate museum was a wonderful change of pace.

Lewdog: All I can say is you have to be interested in the history of Paris to fully explore the different arr., buildings, etc.
I am so in love with the city you would not have to even ask me that question! I have a list as long as my arm on what to see, do, explore next!!!
