Can anyone help me figure out where to go for New Years and how to make reservations? I have never been to Paris nor do I speak French. Would like a special evening but do not want to be ripped off.

It will probably be very difficult to get a reservation in Paris. We lost our initial reservation,which I had called/emailed/faxed 50-70 hotels to find, and were able to find another after more of the above, through hoteldiscount.com. Don't know if they have rooms still available.
If you're able to make it to Paris, you will have a great time, and a very special evening, whether you speak French or not. Paris is always wonderful, year round, jam-packed or not, in my opinion.

I answered your question in someone's trip report where you probably first posed the question! You can call restaurants from here and make reservations, or call the hotel where you will be staying and ask them to call for you. See the earlier post because I rambled on a bit in probably too much detail....
