Paris, Loire Valley and Reims

My husband and I are going to Paris, the Loire and Reims in September. We will be spending 3 days in Paris, 3 driving the Loire Valley and our last day in Reims. Any suggestions, comments, etc... would be greatly appreciated. So far, we are staying at Hotel Bergere d'Opera in Paris, Chateau D'Artigny in Montbazon, Domaine des Hauts de loire in Onzain and Hotel du Rivage in Gien. We are looking for a place in Reims (we have an 11:15 am flight from Paris the next day!)
Thanks!!

Hi Maura
I'm not entirely sure what your budget is like, but it sounds as if you might like Le Crayeres, an expensive, gorgeous, 3 Michelin star restaurant and inn. Phone 3 26 82 80 80, closed Mondays and Tuesday lunch. If you plan to lunch, dine, or stay over at Les Crayeres, they will make an appointment for a private tour at Pommery champagne caves. Les Crayeres was the home of Madame Pommery. Pommery and les Crayeres are at the outskirts of town. Les Crayeres 64 Boulevard Vasnier 51100 Reims Tel. 26-82-80-80
www.geraldboyer.com

However, with a morning flight out of Paris, I'm not sure I'd stay in Reims my last night, unless you are prepared to leave there well before dawn. By the time you get to the airport, return your rental car, check in for your flight, etc you will use up more hours than perhaps you are thinking of; certainly it would not be worth staying at a place like les Crayeres, in my opinion, only to leave before breakfast.
Maura,

I was recently in France for 14 days, saw lots of beautiful cathedrals along the tour. But the one I loved the most was in Rheims. Don't miss it if you enjoy cathedrals. Enjoy your trip!

Sandi
