Paris--Legal Drinking Age

We are headed for Paris in June. What is the legal drinking age to get in clubs or bars? Thank you!

There have been a lot of questions on New Years Eve celebrations in Paris and someone E mailed me directly today regarding same. I went back several months pulling all related questions and found a frenchman by the name of Safs Armstrong who probably could help you too. His E mail address is [email protected]. He talked about drinking "krug" in France so I am sure he can answer your question. We were in Amsterdam and there kids can drink beer at l6 and hard liquor at l8.

It's 16, although teens younger than that could
have an alcoholic drink in the accompaniment of
their parents in a cafe or restaurant. Legal
drinking age is a little different than wanting to
get into clubs/bars -- many of these are picky and
only allow people in they want, anyway, regardless
of the legal drinking age. So if you were very
young or they didn't like your looks or behavior,
they probably wouldn't let you in. I presume from
your question you're teens and prob. under age 19?
Here's a couple popular clubs for the younger crowd
and teens where you should have no problem --
Le Saint at 7 rue St-Severin, 5th. arr., and
La Scala at 188 rue de Rivoli, 1st arr.
If you're at least 16, you'll have no problem sitting
down and ordering a beer or wine in a sidewalk cafe.
