Try the Grand Hotel Leveque. We stayed there in November 2001 and thought it was a great value. Book soon--it fills up fast. Rue Cler is a wonderful market street in the 7eme.

29 rue Cler 75007 Paris
Tel : 01 47 05 49 15
Fax : 01 45 50 49 36
[email protected]
Mary, try this hotel. We stayed here in April 2001, and the prices are in line with your request. It is a 2** hotel about 1 block from Metro Ecole Militaire, has ATM and laundromat just outside, a small grocer, a nice brasserie, can walk to Eiffel Tower or Invalides. Our room was 2 twins, with double sink and tub, TV (no minibar). Corner room with 2 windows opening out to avenue de Tourville - minimal traffic noise at night. Nice continental breakfast (good croissants) for reasonable price, no problems with staff or reservations (made by fax). See some information on this web: http://www.france-hotel-guide.com/h7...renneengl.html

Well, this might be of interest - the name of the hotel in my note above is Hotel de Turenne (not to be confused with Grand Turenne, a more expensive establishment).
